Still frigging hot & this site of the hottest heads of state is right on point. If you ever needed to see a picture of a dreamy young Theodore Roosevelot or proof that Millard Fillmore & Alec Baldwin are twins, this is for you. They also sell candles.

There is a resemblance! Before moving to Greenville we lived in Orchard Park, NY for several years. OP is near a neat little Western New York town of East Aurora and Mr. Fillmore lived there at one time and his home has been made into a museum. Unfortunately I never took the time to visit it. In addition, Horace Greeley had opened the first Erie County Fair at a spot about 150 yards from our house way back in the 19th century was doubly interesting and a bit spooky because I am related to him by marriage!

For some reason that makes me think of a guy I know named Horace, who had never read the poet Horace, which I tried unsuccessfully to get him to do.

I just this second got a WaPo newsletter called the 5-minute fix, & it's all about which presidents people have ever heard of. I bet YOU have heard of Chester Arthur, the least-known president (everyone our age has heard of all of them & probably has an opinion, cuz that's what we do).

Arthur became president after Garfield's assassination and acquitted himself well enough but of course his administration was under a cloud due to the circumstance of his office. He was an abolitionist and served honorably.
